"The quality of the nominations cannot be overstressed," said Anita DeMarco Goor, co-chairwoman of the arts award committee. "We ask that nominators include as much detail to support the nomination as possible so the jury can make an informed decision."
A jury of more than a dozen art experts from the community, representing various artistic mediums will select the winner on the basis of the nominations.
Link Wachler, the jewelry designer of Life Links, will again create the prize which will be presented to the winner at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center on September 9, 2011. The winners' names also grace a Cultural Council Award plaque mounted at Birmingham City Hall, across from the city commission's meeting room.
